- Visualize: set up a first board with six columns, from New to Complete.
- Engage the team: write down what each column means, invite the team, and start a daily huddle (a 10 to 15 minute meeting at the board).
- Define good: set work-in-progress (WIP) limits and a time threshold for each column.
- Keep improving: pick a problem, try a change, and review whether it helped.
The guide plans for two to four weeks at one to two hours a week.
