MCP connector

Stop clicking into every ticket. Ask your AI.

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot or any AI tool that supports MCP to TopLeft. It reads your projects, tickets, tasks and notes, and creates or updates them when you ask. It sees only what you can see.

Works the same on ConnectWise, Autotask and HaloPSA.

TopLeft is a visual project management layer for MSPs (managed service providers) that runs on top of ConnectWise, Autotask and HaloPSA. The MCP connector is a data connector for the AI tools your team already uses. Your AI reads from it when you ask. TopLeft does not send your data to any AI provider.

The problem

Twenty clicks to find out what's going on.

A client asks for a status. You open the project, then the work plan, then each ticket, then the notes. Or you export to Excel, sort it, and type the changes back into the PSA.

One ticket at a time

The status lives inside each ticket. Answering "where are we with this client?" means opening all of them.

Who is on what

The PSA can't show what everyone is working on right now. Someone has to ask, and the answer is out of date by lunch.

Tickets pasted into ChatGPT

Your team already copies tickets into an AI tool. The copy is stale after the next update, and nobody tracks what was pasted.

Is there anything on the roadmap for exposing the TopLeft boards for MCP, so I can use it with my own AI?

TopLeft customer, at our Customer Advisory Board

What it does

Ask in plain English. Changes land in the PSA.

It works through your TopLeft boards and views, on live data. Anything it creates or changes goes back to the PSA the same way an edit on the board does.

Questions

  • What was Dave working on, and what do I need to follow up on while he's out?
  • Tell me about Northwind. What are we working on for them, and what should I look into?
  • Which tickets on the service board haven't been touched in 14 days?
  • Summarize the notes on the firewall project since Monday.

Jobs

  • Triage the new tickets on the service board. Set the type, subtype and item.
  • Rewrite the subjects on today's new tickets so they say what's wrong.
  • Split 4521 into a separate ticket for each site.
  • Create a project for the Northwind firewall refresh, with a task for each site.
  • Book a follow-up activity with Northwind for next Tuesday.
  • Move 4521 to Waiting on Client and log 30 minutes for this morning's call.

What it can do

Read boards and viewsColumns, groups, filters and sort order, the same as on screen.
Read every recordProjects, tickets, tasks and activities, with every field, the notes and the time entries.
CreateProjects, tickets, tasks and activities, straight into the PSA.
Edit and triageSubjects, type, subtype, item, and any other field the record editor lets you change.
Move cardsBetween columns and groups, the same as dragging one.
Add notes and log timeWritten to the ticket or task in your PSA.

It sees only what you can see in TopLeft, and your PSA's own rules apply to every change. TopLeft never sends data to an AI provider. Your own AI tool fetches it, so your AI policies decide where it goes.

Beyond the board

One request across every tool your AI can reach.

TopLeft is one MCP connector among hundreds. Microsoft 365, Slack, HubSpot, Zoom, Notion and Jira have their own. Connect them side by side and a single request can use all of them.

Across your tools

  • Post today's open emergencies to the #service channel in Slack.
  • Create the onboarding project for every HubSpot deal that closed this week.
  • Add the action items from yesterday's Zoom call to Key Pool's ticket as a note.

Files from live data

  • Build Key Pool's QBR deck from their open tickets.
  • Put hours logged per client this month in a spreadsheet, with a chart.
  • Write a handover document for Nicole's open tickets.

Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot already write Word documents, Excel sheets, PowerPoint decks and charts. With TopLeft connected, they write them from what is in your PSA today.

Setup

Connected in three steps.

An admin turns it on.

Under Settings, AI, MCP. Choose who can connect and what each person may change.

Add TopLeft as a connector.

In Claude, ChatGPT or another AI tool, add a custom connector with the address TopLeft shows you. It sends you to TopLeft to sign in and approve what it may do. Tools without a sign-in step use a personal key, which you can revoke.

Ask.

Start with a client or a tech: what's open, what's stuck, what changed this week.

Your AI toolClaude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, n8n or any MCP client. Runs under your account and your AI policies.
TopLeft
  • Answers only when your AI asks
  • Sees only what you can see
  • Applies your PSA's rules to every change
Your PSAConnectWise, Autotask or HaloPSA. Changes are written here, the same as from the board.

Your AI and your board

Ask the AI. Plan on the board.

Ask the AI when

  • a client wants a status and you don't want to open ten tickets
  • a tech is out and you need to know what they had open
  • you're on a call and want the note or the time entry in now
  • new tickets need a subject that makes sense and a type, subtype and item

Open the board when

  • you're planning the week and moving work around
  • you need to see everyone's workload side by side
  • you're running the morning huddle

Claude's fine for, tell me the status of this project as a third party, but if you're actually managing the project, you want something you can click and drag and edit.

Common questions

What MSPs ask before they connect it

Does TopLeft send our data to an AI provider?
No. The connector is a data connector. Your own AI tool reads from it when you ask, under your account, so your data and AI policies apply. It can only read records you could open in TopLeft yourself.
Can it create tickets and projects?
Yes. It creates projects, tickets, tasks and activities in your PSA, and edits, moves, adds notes and logs time on existing ones.
Can I keep it read-only?
Yes. Your admin decides who can connect and whether their AI can make changes.
Which AI tools work with it?
Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, n8n, and any other tool that supports MCP connectors.
Which PSAs does it work with?
ConnectWise, Datto Autotask and HaloPSA. Changes are written back to the PSA, the same as an edit on the board.
Does it replace the board?
No. The board is where you plan and move work. The AI is quicker for questions, triage and cleanup.
